How notorious Abuja bandit leader, Isa Dei-Dei, was killed: Police

The Nigerian Police Force has revealed how it eliminated notorious bandit leader, Isa Dei-Dei, in the suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, and foiled a possible kidnap attempt.
Disclosing this on his official X handle on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the operation was carried out by its DFI-IRT operatives after receiving credible intelligence on Monday about Dei-Dei’s hideout along with his gang members.
According to Mr Adejobi, the bandits engaged the police operatives in a gun battle which led to the killing of Dei-Dei while some of his gang members escaped with gunshot wounds.
He said, “At about 1015HRS on February 5, 2024, operatives of the DFI-IRT, acting on intelligence, got information on the hideout of a notorious bandit group in the suburb of the FCT, led by one Isa Dei-Dei and immediately proceeded to the location for possible arrest.
“Upon closing in on them, they sighted the police and fled. The operatives immediately went after them, which led to a fierce gun duel. In the process, the notorious Isa Dei-Dei was neutralised while other members of the syndicate managed to escape with gunshot injuries,” he explained.
Mr Adejobi therefore urged “members of the public, most especially medical practitioners, to call our attention to anyone or patients seen with gunshot wounds for further investigation.”
