Husband drags wife to court over insubmission

The presiding judge of a customary court in Jikwoyi, Abuja, Dada Oluwaseyi, on Friday, admonished one Murikat Nura to be submissive to her husband.
The judge gave the advice when the case was mentioned in court.
The husband, Matthew Nura, took the matter to court, accusing his wife of always fighting and disrespecting him.
In his judgement, Mr Oluwaseyi said the wife was bound to submit to her husband after taking their marital vows.
“This is the exact reason why I always advise parties intending to tie the knot to be sure before they say ‘I do’.
“Don’t have a mindset that there is an option to opt out. Woman, be submissive to your husband, so it is written in the holy book,” the judge said.
Mr Oluwaseyi advised the couple to think about the children that came out of their marriage before taking any decision on their union.
“Reason beyond the flesh; marriages got bad because we reason in the flesh. For the sake of these little children, I want you both to reconcile,” the judge added.
Mr Oluwaseyi adjourned the matter till July 27 for a settlement report.
