I don’t deceive voters like other politicians: Governor Oyetola
Ahead of the July 16 gubernatorial election in Osun, Governor Gboyega Oyetola has advised residents to be wary of “kindergarten politicians”, while assuring that he would not disappoint them if re-elected.
“You have tested me for close to four years now and you can see that I have not in any way failed you,” Mr Oyetola said.
“Let’s join hands to ensure continuity for the benefit and greater Osun, which we will all be proud of,” the governor added.
Mr Oyetola made the remarks during an engagement programme organised by the State’s Civic Engagement Centre on Sunday in Ijimo village in Oriade Local Government Area (LGA) of Osun state.
Represented by his special adviser on Civic Engagement, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the governor noted that he had made a covenant with God and the people that voted him into power to always prioritise their welfare.
He said that the assumption by some people that he would stop the good works he had been doing since the assumption of office if re-elected is far from the truth.
The governor noted that he had not reneged on any of the promises he made on the assumption of office in 2018.
He also urged them to ensure they have their voter cards, adding that the voter cards are their power to ensure continuity of good work, come July 16.
Earlier this year, the governor urged would-be voters to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the election, accusing other All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants of attempting to steal their PVCs.
