I love Wizkid, Tems reacts to groping criticisms
Star songstress Tems has poured cold water on mounting criticism of Wizkid for inappropriately touching her during a stage performance in London.
Tems says “I love him and that’s not gonna change”.
A viral video Tems pushing away as Wizkid hugged her tightly and tried to lift her while the duo performed their hit track “Essence” at the “Made in Lagos” tour in London has been making the rounds.
The scene drew flaks from fans online who say the “try me” crooner looked extremely uncomfortable with Wizkid’s “failed” attempt.
But Tems insists they are cool regardless, noting that Wizkid is only “human.”
Tems emphasised that Wizkid is like a brother to her and she looks up to him.
“This is my brother, someone that I look up to,” she said. “I am grateful for everything he has done and his existence and I want you guys to remember that he is human , I am human.”
Tems’ musical career experienced growth in geometric proportions since Wizkid featured her in the chart-topping anthem that has gained global acclaim.
She now sits comfortably as one of Africa’s top female artists following her vocal successes.
