I will remain focussed; I wont be distracted, says Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has promised to remain focussed in his administration’s desire to make huge impact on the state.
Mr Makinde spoke on Tuesday at the Crossover Service of the Livingspring Chapel International which he attended with his wife,Tamunominini; and some key cabinet members.
The governor stated, “You have given me a mandate. I will make sure you get value for the mandate. Continue to pray for us. We have done a bit and a lot needs to be done.”
The governor noted that the year started with the news of mining explosion at Bodija, Ibadan, on January 16 and two weeks to the end the year there was a stampede in the state.
He said, “Some people stored mining explosives at a residential area in Bodija . Two weeks to the end of the year (2024), there was a stampede at Islamic High School, Orita Bashorun, Ibadan.”
Thirty-five children were confirmed dead at a stampede that heralded a Christmas funfair organised by the Ooni of Ife’s ex-queen, Naomi.
Ms Naomi, the Chairman, Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Oriyomi Hamzat and the principal of the school, Abdullahi Fasasi, are facing prosecution.
Earlier, Livingspring Chapel International, Presiding Pastor, Femi Emmanuel, prayed for Mr Makinde and his wife, Oyo State, President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria as a whole.
Reacting to the cleric’s observation that though the governor and his wife were members of the church, the demands of office denied them regular church attendance, the governor promised to attend the remaining two crossover services before the expiration of his tenure.
He noted, “From 2025 to 2027, there are still two crossover services. I will be here and you will all be here as well. I will be in Sunday service at least once in a quarter.”
