The police have arraigned a baker and a security guard with FoodCo at Ring Road, Ibadan, before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate’s Court on Monday over alleged theft.

Both suspects, 31-year-old Ebenezer Olusesi, the baker, and 41-year-old Ibrahim Adeniyi, the security guard, were charged with allegedly conspiring to steal two loaves of bread worth N2,600 from their employer.

The prosecution counsel, David Adepoju, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offence on April 28, 2024.

He said the alleged offence violated sections 390(a) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The chief magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted each defendant bail of N50,000 with two sureties each.

The magistrate added that one of the sureties must be a relative, while the second surety must present tax evidence for two years.

She adjourned the case until August 15 for a hearing.
