Ibadan businessman arrested for assaulting his father

The police accused the defendant of hitting his father on the forehead.

A 37-year-old businessman, Yusuf Mufutau, has been arrested and arraigned at the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for assaulting his father, Bolaji.

Mr Mufutau was charged with causing grievous harm.

The prosecution counsel Philip Amusan told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 20, at about 1:00 a.m, at SW4/230, Ile-Ike, Foko, Ibadan.

The police accused the defendant of hitting his father on the forehead.

Mr Amusan added that the offence contravened section 355 of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti admitted the defendant to bail in N20,000 and two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until May 26 for a definite hearing.
