The police on Wednesday arraigned a 25-year-old man, Ope Quadri, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly stealing aluminum extrusions.

Quadri was charged with theft, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Tellang, said the defendant committed the offence on August 1, at noon around Apata, Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant stole aluminium extrusions, the value of which is yet to be determined, belonging to the complainant identified only as Ope.

He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Oluwaferanmi Raji, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.

Raji, among other terms, held that one of the sureties must be a blood relation bearing the same surname with the defendant.
