Ibadan sales rep arraigned over alleged theft of goods worth N2.1million

A 25-year-old sales representative, Adeola Adesina, was arraigned on Wednesday in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly stealing goods worth over N2.1 million.
Adesina, who is an employee of Olafik Venture Enterprises, Ogunpa Market, Ibadan, was charged with theft to which she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Samuel Owolabi, alleged that the defendant committed the offence sometime in May, at about 1:00 p.m., at the aforementioned area in Ibadan.
Mr Owolabi said that the defendant stole goods worth N2,198,480.00 belonging to Olafik Venture Enterprises.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The magistrate, Gladys Olanrewaju, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million and two sureties in a like sum.
She adjourned the case until July 14 for hearing.
