Ibadan woman in court over alleged theft of N8.4 million

The police on Tuesday charged a 46-year-old female agent, Sade Aladebe, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, Oyo State, over alleged N8.4 million theft.

Aladebe, is standing trial on charges bordering on conspiracy and theft

She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Femi Omilana, alleged that the defendant committed the offences in April, at the Kudeti area of Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant and others at large, stole the sum of N8.4 million belonging to a complainant and business partner, Monday Omokhudu.

According to him, the defendant was eventually arrested following police investigation.

The offences contravene the provisions of Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Adebola Adeola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of five million naira with two sureties in like sum.

She held that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendant while the other must be a religious leader of a reputable worship centre.

The court adjourned the case until August 6, for hearing.
