Iconic American actress Betty White dies at 99

American actress Betty White has died at the age of 99, just weeks before her milestone 100th birthday. Ms White would have turned 100 years old on January 17.
At the time of filing this report, the cause of her death is unknown. However, law enforcement confirmed to TMZ that Ms White passed away at her home on Friday morning.
Ms White had the longest running career for any woman in TV, starring in shows over the past eight decades, dating as far back as 1939. She is most famous for her lead role as Rose Nylund in “The Golden Girls,” which ran from 1985 to 1992.
She started her career in radio in the ‘40s, making appearances on “Blondie,” “The Great Gildersleeve,” and “This is Your FBI,” before eventually getting her own radio program.
In 1949, Ms White worked on a TV variety show with Al Jarvis called “Hollywood on Television,” which she later co-hosted.
With 115 acting credits to her name, Ms White has starred in multiple TV shows including, Life with Elizabeth, The Love Boat, Mama’s Family, The Golden Palace, Ladies Man, That ‘70s Show, Higglytown Heroes, Boston Legal, The Bold and the Beautiful and many others.
Ms White won five Primetime Emmy Awards – including two for “Mary Tyler Moore,” one for “Golden Girls” and one for her 1975 “Saturday Night Live” appearance. She also won an American Comedy Award and a Grammy in 2012.
