Jobson Ewalefoh, director-general, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), has called on citizens to enter 2026 with renewed hope, shared responsibility and confidence in the nation’s infrastructure future.

Mr Ewalefoh, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, described the New Year as a period for reflection and recommitment, stressing that infrastructure remains a key driver of economic growth, national productivity and improved quality of life for Nigerians.

“A new year is not only a change of date; it is a renewed opportunity to build, to serve and to deliver lasting value to our people.

“Infrastructure is ultimately about people,  about access, opportunity and dignity,” he said.

He said approvals granted by the federal executive council to critical public–private partnership (PPP) projects in 2025 were reassuring indications that the government was steadily laying the foundations to close the nation’s infrastructure gap.

Mr Ewalefoh added that the transition into a new year also calls for renewed faith, stronger unity and a collective resolve to apply lessons learnt from the past with optimism and compassion.

“As we enter a new year, our focus must be on delivery, and may God grant our nation peace and wisdom, bringing renewed hope, steady progress and lasting prosperity for all Nigerians,” he said.
