Igbos endorse NNPP governorship candidate Hunkuyi in Kaduna

The Igbo communities in Kaduna have endorsed NNPP governorship candidate Suleiman Hunkuyi going into Saturday’s elections.
Addressing the crowd of Igbo leaders from across the 23 LGAs on Wednesday in Kaduna, the president-general of Igbo communities, Francis Uchenna, said they need an environment for business.
He said they believed Mr Hunkuyi could ensure the enabling environment for Igbos residing in Kaduna if elected as the next governor.
Mr Uchenna explained that the leadership of the various Igbo communities in the state, which took a unanimous decision to rally support for Hunkuyi, was based on his track record of competence, truthfulness and his determination to run an inclusive government if elected.
Vincent Anagwonye, secretary general of the Igbo communities in Kaduna, said Mr Hunkuyi “is the man of his word.”
Mr Anagwonye added, “We are going to vote for him because of his quality of competence, truthfulness, willingness and determination to carry everyone along, irrespective of tribe, language, religion or social class.”
Addressing the gathering, Mr Hunkuyi reiterated his promise to run an inclusive government and review several policies of Governor Nasir El-Rufai to revise the ones tagged as anti-people.
Mr Hunkuyi said he would revisit the over 36,000 shops and business places demolished by Mr El-Rufai.
According to him, any government that does not listen to the people regarding their yearnings and aspirations is not a responsive government.
The leaders of the Igbo communities, headed by the president-general, consisted of a vice-president for each state in the South-East.
