I’ll eliminate those behind insecurity in Kaduna if elected president: Tinubu

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate for 2023, has vowed to eliminate everyone behind insecurity in Kaduna if elected president.
“Insah Allah, all those trouble makers: violent kidnappers, killers, all trouble makers who are (inaudibe) security of Kaduna, I assure you we will eliminate them,” Mr Tinubu said.
The candidate made this promise while speaking at the APC presidential rally on Tuesday.
Under President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime, Kaduna and other northern states have been under the siege of bandits who continue to kidnap for ransom, notably school children, forcing schools’ closure at some point.
In March, an Abuja-Kaduna train was bombed by bandits, with eight killed and over 40 passengers kidnapped. Some of the victims regained their freedom three months later after paying huge ransom.
Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna commissioner for internal security and home affairs, in November, reported that 446 persons have been killed in different attacks in the past six months Kaduna State.
Mr Tinubu, 70, will be up against Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of Labour Party and a host of other candidates in next year’s election.
