The deputy governor of Kebbi State, Umar Abubakar-Tafida, has directed the 21 local government chairmen in the state to ensure full attendance at evening review meetings during immunisation exercises.

Mr Abubakar-Tafida stated this while delivering a keynote address at the monthly meeting of the State Taskforce Committee on Immunisation, Primary Health Care, and Environmental Sanitation held in Birnin Kebbi.

He noted that the meetings would enable them to receive real-time updates on health issues affecting their respective local government areas and the progress of routine immunisation.

The deputy governor, who also chairs the taskforce committee, said the government was concerned about gaps in monitoring and coordination at the local government level.

He noted that the evening review meetings were critical to tracking performance, addressing challenges, and ensuring that no community was left behind in the state’s health interventions.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment, Mr Abubakar-Tafida said the present administration remained focused on supporting all healthcare-related activities across the state through primary healthcare centres (PHCs).

The deputy governor commended traditional rulers for their full attendance at the evening review meetings and their support for health-related issues.

Mr Abubakar-Tafida appealed to local government chairmen to work closely with traditional rulers to intensify public enlightenment and mobilisation.

He also called on health workers to continue to exhibit a high sense of maturity, commitment, and professionalism in the delivery of immunisation services across the state.

The deputy governor commended development partners and donor agencies for their continued support in strengthening immunisation and primary healthcare delivery in the state.
