Nigerian TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, aka Peller, has condemned Nigerians participating in the viral ’30 days rant challenge’, warning that it could result in the banning of the video-sharing app in Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu’s government.

Peller suggested that the online protesters leave TikTok and go to Instagram instead.

“If you want to really rant, go to Instagram; go to the market; don’t rant here on TikTok. If they ban TikTok, that’s where we will have issue,” he said.

“Let’s protest. Let’s go outside. Let’s leave TikTok. Online something is just mumu mumu,” he added.

The challenge is a channel for Nigerians on TikTok to air their frustrations over economic hardship for 30 days.

The challenge is a copycat of a viral video by corper Ushie Uguamaye berating Mr Tinubu as a “terrible president” as his harsh economic policies strangulate Nigerians and businesses.

“After ranting for 30 days, you that say you’ve been suffering, you’ll go back to the suffering,” Peller said.

His comments have sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing with his stance and others criticising him for downplaying the struggles of average Nigerians and only trying to protect his TikTok career.

Another user @LADE said, “That’s why it is good to have a stable source of income. Only someone who is unemployed would fear TikTok being banned. Guy do something with the money you are getting from TikTok, to avoid this kind ranting. I have always like you…but you are going too far.”
