Insecurity: Ibadan polytechnic backtracks, resumes activities
The Polytechnic Ibadan has backtracked on its suspension of various activities, including conferences, seminars, and workshops in the institution and its environment.
The institution had banned all activities except the ongoing examinations.
In a statement on Sunday, its registrar, Modupe Fawale, directed the resumption of various activities in line with existing laid-down procedures less than 24 hours after the earlier directive.
Mrs Fawale said the institution issued the new directive after engaging with all concerned stakeholders.
“With this, all planned activities within the institution are to continue with strict adherence to the best practices that will promote continued peace on campus,” the statement said.
The polytechnic urged all its staff and students to cooperate with the institution’s efforts to maintain peace.
