Instagram influencer arrested for stealing $200 during armed robbery

American social media influencer Dejontay Wings has been arrested for allegedly breaking into Take 5 Oil Change, an automotive maintenance company, and stealing $200.
Mr Wings, with nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram, was arrested on Saturday over a break-in that occurred at the company’s Airline Highway location in Baton Rouge on December 2, 2025.
An arrest warrant issued by the Baton Rouge Police Department said the influencer allegedly broke into a window in the garage, moved through the office area to locate a safe he was familiar with, and took $200 in cash, WBRZ News 2 reported.
Investigators said that although the security camera at the location malfunctioned during the robbery and the suspect’s face could not be captured, the manager recognised Mr Wings by his gait.
The police said Mr Wings, 27, had been sacked from the business two weeks before the robbery.
He has been charged with simple burglary and criminal damage to property.
The news of the arrest was also shared on Facebook by David Harris Jr, an American conservative political commentator and social media influencer.
Mr Wings is known for posting comedy sketches on Instagram.
