Inter Milan has appointed Simone Inzaghi as their new head coach following the exit of Antonio Conte from the club.

Inzaghi, former Lazio coach, signed a two year contact with the Italian champions, replacing Conte who led Inter to their first league title in 11 years in the just concluded season.

A statement by the club Thursday disclosed the appointment of Inzaghi.

“Internazionale Milano would like to welcome Simone Inzaghi to the Club, as our new First Team Coach: the Italian manager has signed a two-year deal with the Nerazzurri,” the statement reads.

Inzaghi, 45, will be leading the Nerazzurri next season as they fight to retain their titles.

In his five years at Lazio, he led Lazio to a Coppa Italia title in 2019 and also helped Lazio back to Champions League qualification.
