IPOB, ESN terrorist killed, others fled during Ebonyi raid: Army

Troops of Sector II (Ebonyi) of the Joint Task Force ‘Operation UDO KA’ have conducted a raid on the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN) Camp located in Mgbalukwu in Inyimagu, Izzi LGA.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, spokesman for the troops.
The army said the raid was carried out on Thursday by the troops in conjunction with the police, SSS, and NSCDC, based on credible intelligence.
He said during the operation, troops came in contact with IPOB and ESN militants, which resulted in the killing of one IPOB member while others fled into the nearby bushes.
The troops, he said, recovered one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, 54 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two handheld radios and three stolen Sienna buses.
“The Force Commander Joint Task-Force South-East, Operation UDO KA, Maj.-Gen. Hassan Dada, wishes to appreciate the synergy among the troops and other security agencies.
“All law-abiding citizens of South-East Nigeria are all enjoined to continually provide timely, reliable and credible information through the emergency line 193 and then press ‘Option 2’ to speak to a call centre representative,” he said.
