Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on United States bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq and Bahrain on Tuesday.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that its forces carried out combined missile and drone attacks on U.S. facilities in these bases in retaliation for the U.S. strike.

In a video released on Tuesday evening, the IRGC said a house targeted by U.S. airstrikes in the southern city of Kuhestak was the site of a wedding celebration.

Iranian local officials noted that one of the strikes killed five, including a child, and injured at least 68 others.

Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesman for Iran’s foreign affairs ministry, described the attacks as a brutal attack, alleging that the U.S. was used to “making excessive demands and “mistaken negotiation for dictating terms”.

The retaliation by Iran came hours after the U.S. Central Command said it fired ballistic missiles against Iranian military targets, including air defence sites, radar systems and maritime assets.

“The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members,” the command said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump said the U.S. was not trying to force Iran to the bargaining table.

“I couldn’t care less if they sign a worthless, to them, agreement. I like our position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing. They are just playing out the inevitable. When are the Iranian people going to rise up and fight?” Mr Trump stated.

The latest exchange of attacks between the two countries came amid diplomatic efforts by regional countries to negotiate an end to the ongoing war.
