Israel forces on Tuesday struck a residential building in Qatar, housing top Hamas leaders while ceasefire negotiations to end the Gaza war lingers.

The spokesperson for the Qatari foreign ministry, Majed al-Ansari,
in a statement confirmed the attack on “residential headquarters” housing Hamas top officials, condemning Israel’s action.

While Mr al-Ansari did not speak on whether the targeted Hamas leaders escaped the attack, he said “This criminal assault constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, and poses a serious threat to the security and safety of Qataris and residents in Qatar.”

In a statement circulated on social media, Israel Defense Forces confirmed that in collaboration with ISA, it “conducted a precise strike targeting the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization.”

The IDF said, “Prior to the strike, measures were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and additional intelligence. For years, these members of the Hamas leadership have led the terrorist organization’s operations, are directly responsible for the brutal October 7 massacre, and have been orchestrating and managing the war against the State of Israel.’’
