Israeli forces launch retaliatory strikes against Iran military installations

The Israeli military struck Iranian military installations on Saturday in response to recent ballistic missile attacks from the Islamic Republic.
This military action followed weeks after Iran launched approximately 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel on October 1.
Spokesperson for the Israeli Defence Forces, RAdm Daniel Hagar, confirmed the operation, stating that “precise strikes” targeted Iran’s military facilities, including ballistic missile manufacturing sites and air defence systems.
“I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel,” Mr Hagari stated.
He further said that the attack served as a warning to Iran, cautioning the regime against further provocations that could escalate regional tensions.
“Iran struck Israel twice… and has paid the price for that. We are focused on the goals of the war in Gaza and Lebanon. It is Iran that continues to push for a wide regional escalation,” Mr Hagari said.
He added, “If the regime in Iran were to make the mistake of beginning a new round of escalation — we will be obligated to respond. Our message is clear: All those who threaten the State of Israel and seek to drag the region into a wider escalation will pay a heavy price. We demonstrated today that we have both the capability and the resolve to act decisively, and we are prepared — on offense and defence — to defend Israel and the people of Israel.”
In response, Iranian air defence systems reported that Israel targeted military sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam.
“The loud blasts heard around Tehran were related to the activation of the air defence system against the actions of the Zionist regime which attacked three locations outside of Tehran city,” state television reported, citing officials from the Tehran province air defence.
This latest exchange marked a significant point in the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran.
