The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.

The PM, during the cabinet meeting on Sunday, said he would not withdraw forces until the Palestinian group Hamas fully disarms.

“Israel rejects the 15-point document,” Mr Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting on Sunday, referring to the plan endorsed last month by Hamas.

He noted that his country is “talking to the Americans about this issue”.

“They have ideas, some of which are acceptable to us, and some are not acceptable to us, and we know how to stand firm on these things,” the prime minister said.

Mr Netanyahu added that as long as he remained the prime minister, no Palestinian state would arise, stating that Israel would not abide by the U.S.-backed plan.

He stressed that the Israeli military would “not withdraw at all until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and will continue to thwart threats against our forces and citizens.”
