IWD 2026: Orile-Agege LCDA restates commitment to girl-child empowerment

Wife of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Fatimot Idowu, has reaffirmed commitment to supporting and empowering the girl child.
She described girl-child education and leadership, as being vital to future of the community.
In her message to mark the 2026 International Women’s Day, she joined voices across the globe to celebrate women, describing them as pillars of strength, resilience, and brilliance.
She commended the women of Orile-Agege LCDA for their courage and dedication, noting that they nurture homes, drive businesses, excel in professions, and sustain the growth of the community.
According to her, this year’s International Women’s Day theme underscores inclusivity, equity, and empowerment, adding that societies thrive when women are given equal opportunities.
She assured that the administration remains committed to policies and initiatives that uplift women, describing empowerment as both a moral duty and a strategic investment in the future of the LCDA.
“I will continue to support and empower the girl child to lead, because when our girls rise, our community rises with them,” she said.
She, consequently, urged women to embrace their uniqueness, pursue their dreams with confidence, and continue to break barriers.
Ms Idowu congratulated all women of the LCDA, and expressed hope that the celebration would renew collective resolve to build a society where women are celebrated every day.
