Jesus crucifies Foxes as Arsenal nail Leicester in six-goal thriller
Arsenal grabbed a deserved second win in the English Premier League this season, beating Leicester City 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium.
New signing Gabriel Jesus put up an impressive performance, scoring his first EPL goal for the Gunners 23 minutes into the game.
The 25-year-old Brazilian striker made it two for the Gunners a few minutes to the first half break, giving the home side a goal lead margin.
Aside from netting a brace, Jesus hit the side net at close range and came close twice to scoring more goals but was denied by Leicester goalie Danny Ward.
Saliba’s own goal in the 53rd minute reduced Arsenal’s lead margin, giving Leicester hope of a comeback.
Granit Xhaka ensured that did not happen as he restored Arsenal’s two-goal lead two minutes later.
James Maddison pushed Leicester close to a comeback, scoring in the 74th minute, only for Gabriel Martinelli to fire in another for the Gunners.
With Saturday’s win, the Gunners now have six points in two games, maintaining a 100 per cent start to the season.
