Jigawa government, army collaborate on fostering peaceful environment

The Jigawa government has affirmed its commitment to collaborate with the Nigerian Army to maintain and foster a peaceful environment. A statement by the army on Wednesday disclosed this.
Governor Umar Namadi made the pledge when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) I Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector I Joint Task Force Operation ‘Fasan Yamma’, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase paid him a visit at the Government House in Dutse.
Mr Namadi said that the primary goal of the collaboration is to create and sustain a peaceful and secure environment for the residents of Jigawa.
”We are ready to collaborate with the Nigerian army to ensure a secure and peaceful atmosphere where social and economic activities will always thrive,” he said.
The governor expressed his gratitude to army chief Olufemi Oluyede for his dedication and commitment to ensuring a stable and secure state through the presence of the army in the state.
Responding, the GOC thanked the governor for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.
Mr Wase commended the governor for the stable security environment in the state and informed the governor that the army will continue to keep the state safe from criminal elements.
Earlier, while addressing officers and men, the GOC assured the troops that the leadership of the army is prioritising the welfare of the troops and providing a conducive environment for them to carry out all their tasks professionally.
He urged them to be proactive and remain their brother’s keeper.
The GOC also inaugurated the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association Nursery and Primary School, established by the Coordinator of the NAOWA 26 Armoured Brigade chapter, Blessing Mackintosh.
