The secretary-general of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Khalid Abubakar, has commended the director-general of the State Security Service, Oluwatosin Ajayi, for deeming it worthy to host the Muslim Ummah to a befitting breaking of fast.

Mr Abubakar made the commendation in a statement on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Mr Abubakar underscored the significance of the secret police boss’ action, saying that it would go a long way in promoting religious harmony.

The JNI scribe described Mr Ajayi’s initiative to unite the Muslims and Christians as historic.

He reckoned that, despite being the son of the clergy, Mr Ajayi had demonstrated an exceptional commitment to religious tolerance.

Mr Abubakar hailed the invitation extended to the less-privileged to the feast, saying, “I understand that Ajayi traditionally does this and empowers them. This is commendable and should be emulated.”

He prayed for Allah’s wisdom to guide him in addressing the myriad of Nigeria’s security challenges.

Mr Abubakar said the breaking of the fasting, held on Saturday, brought together Muslim and Christian leaders and other indigents, including those with special needs from across Abuja.
