Bandits storm Kaduna Greenfield University, abduct students

The police said the government had deployed security operatives in the general area for a search-and-rescue operation.

The police command in Kaduna has confirmed an attack by bandits on Greenfield University on Tuesday evening.

The university, located on Kaduna-Abuja highway, was attacked at about 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday.

The command’s spokesman, Mohammed Jalige, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Kaduna that some of the students were abducted.

Mr Jalige, however, added that the police had not ascertained the number of students kidnapped.

The police said the government had deployed security operatives in the general area for a search-and-rescue operation.
