Chelsea announce signing of Ivorian striker David Fofana

Premier League side Chelsea have announced the signing of Ivorian youngster, David Datro Fofana, on a permanent deal from Norwegian outfit Molde
The 20-year-old successfully completed his medical in London on Tuesday following a €12m transfer fee agreement between the The Blues and the Norwegian club.
“Chelsea FC has reached a pre-agreement with Molde FK for the transfer of David Datro Fofana. The 20-year-old striker will join the Blues on 1 January 2023. We look forward to welcoming David to the club,” the club said in a statement on Wednesday.
Fofana was the second highest scorer in the Norwegian top flight league, Eliteserien, in the just concluded season, scoring 15 goals in 24 league appearances.
His acquisition became essential for Chelsea after the club’s striker Armando Broja was ruled out of the season following a knee injury in mid-season friendly match against Aston Villa.
Broja underwent a successful operation on his knee last week Wednesday as the 21-year-old prepares to start rehabilitation.
