Former Buhari minister Aisha Alhassan is dead

She was 61.

Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan, former minister of women affairs, is dead. 

Mrs Alhassan, who served as minister in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, died in Cairo, Egypt, Punch reported. 

She was 61.

Mrs Alhassan popularly called Mama Taraba was a senator in the 7th Senate. 

Under the All Progressive Congress platform, she contested in Taraba State governorship election in 2015 but lost to incumbent Ishaku Darius. 

In 2019, she contested for Taraba governorship on the platform of United Democratic Party after quitting APC but lost again to Mr Ishaku.
