Ice Prince arrested for ‘abducting’ police officer in Lagos

Nigerian rapper, Panshak Zamani, known as Ice Prince, has been arrested for “abducting” and “threatening” a police officer.
The police command in Lagos announced his arrest on Friday morning.
According to the police spokesman in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the 35-year-old rapper was arrested after he “abducted” and “assaulted” a police officer who stopped him for driving without a licence plate.
“At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station,” Mr Hundeyin alleged in a tweet.
The police spokesman added, “He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
The rapper’s team have yet to release a statement in response to his arrest.
Ice Prince rose to stardom after the release of his song ‘Oleku’ in 2010.
