Lagos assembly re-elects Mudashiru Obasa as speaker

The Lagos State House of Assembly has re-elected Mudashiru Obasa as speaker nearly two months after his impeachment in January.
The re-election was announced at the House chamber on Monday after speaker Moji Meranda resigned her position, capping weeks of internal wranglings that assailed the assembly.
Mr Obasa had derided his impeachment as a joke, claiming it did not follow due process.
He had also given his word not to punish more than 30 state legislators who voted to oust him from office, describing them as his brothers and sisters.
Details later.
