Tinubu, APC chiefs pick former INEC REC Nentawe Yilwatda as party chairman

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has been elected as the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
His emergence was formally announced on Thursday during the national executive council (NEC) meeting of the APC at the State House, Abuja.
The meeting had in attendance President Bola Tinubu, the Progressives Governors Form (PGF) and top party officials.
Mr Yilwatda, born on August 8, 1968, is an engineer and former lecturer and ICT director at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Plateau State. Between July 2017 and December 2021, Mr Yilwatda served as the Independent National Electoral Commission’s resident electoral commissioner in Benue State. He quit the INEC in 2022 to join politics.
