UGM kidnap Ibadan village head, wife

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped an Ibadan village head, the Baale of Araromi, Tafa Apanpa and his wife.
The gunmen, who stormed the Bakatari area of Ibadan, abducted the couple on Tuesday night.
Bakatari in Ido local government area is a border town between Oyo and Ogun, located on the Ibadan-Abeokuta road.
A resident of the community, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told journalists on Wednesday in Ibadan that the kidnappers abducted the village and his wife were kidnapped while it was raining on Tuesday night.
The source added that the couple’s whereabouts remained unknown.
When contacted, DSP Adewale Osifeso, the police spokesman in Ibadan, confirmed the incident, saying the command is making efforts to secure the release of the victims.
“The incident happened very late on Tuesday 22nd of June, at Araromi Village.
“Efforts are in top gear to rescue both victims and apprehend the abductors, please,” he said.
