Kaduna disburses about ₦3 billion in compensation for road projects

The Kaduna government has disbursed N2.85 billion as compensation to communities affected by ongoing road projects.
This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna by the managing director of Kaduna State Roads Agency, Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed.
According to him, Governor Uba Sani has prioritised citizens’ welfare, thereby ensuring that development does not come at the expense of affected communities.
Mr Baba-Ahmed said that the governor’s people-centred approach reflects a commitment to fairness, dignity, and respect in compensating residents impacted by road construction projects.
He said the compensation has been duly paid to affected communities across Kaduna, demonstrating the administration’s resolve to protect citizens’ interests during infrastructure development.
The managing director said that the commitment extends beyond the Rigasa community, with the total amount fully disbursed to beneficiaries across five major road projects.
He said the projects include the Mahuta community on the Rabah-Rigasa train station road, the Magajiya–Albarkawa road in Zaria LGA, and the Audi–Kako road in Zaria. Others include the Dogon Bauchi-Kakiyeyi road linking Sabon Gari and Zaria LGAs, as well as the Kabala Costain-Aliyu Makama road.
Mr Baba-Ahmed restated that the initiative represents responsible governance in action, where infrastructural progress is balanced with the welfare of the people.
According to him, Mr Sani is not only building roads but also building trust, restoring public confidence, and setting a new standard for inclusive development in Kaduna.
