Governor Uba Sani on Wednesday launched the state inaugural flight for the 2026 hajj, urging intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Kaduna and Nigeria.

The governor described the pilgrimage as one of the most profound spiritual obligations in the life of every Muslim. He urged the intending pilgrims to undertake the journey with total devotion and complete submission to the will of God.

Mr Sani cautioned the pilgrims to strictly obey the laws of Saudi Arabia and avoid any conduct capable of tarnishing the image of Kaduna and Nigeria. He also advised them to adhere strictly to all approved procedures and protocols provided by officials and guides.

The governor assured pilgrims and their families of the Kaduna government’s commitment to a smooth and successful Hajj operation. According to him,  the extensive upgrades at the Mando Hajj Transit Camp initiated by his administration were designed to provide greater comfort and convenience for pilgrims.

Mr Sani said the camp now features standard accommodation, upgraded sanitary facilities, a modern multipurpose hall, an ICT centre, improved healthcare services, enhanced security arrangements and newly constructed business stalls.

He further appealed to the pilgrims to pray for lasting peace, progress and prosperity in Kaduna State and Nigeria during their stay in Mecca.

The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Bamalli, warned intending pilgrims against accepting packages from other people, particularly at airports, noting that such items could contain prohibited substances.

The emir also advised them against carrying unnecessary items, including kolanuts, stressing that such items were not required for the successful performance of the pilgrimage.
