Kaduna: Governor Sani retains El-Rufai’s SSG, other top appointees

Governor Uba Sani has retained senior government officials of his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, to help him run Kaduna.
This is contained in a statement by Mohammed Shehu, the governor’s chief press secretary, on Tuesday.
The statement said Mr El-Rufai’s secretary to the state government, Balarabe Lawal, was retained, given his vast experience in governance, to assist in the smooth take-off of the administration.
The governor also retained the services of other senior members of Mr El-Rufai’s government and approved the appointment of Hafiz Bayero as his senior adviser. At the same time, James Kanyip and Chris Umar were appointed deputy chiefs of staff.
Other appointees are Shehu Muhammad and Bulus Audu as counsellors to the governor.
Mr Sani also approved the appointment of Sani Liman as his chief of staff. Mr Liman was the NIS comptroller in Kano, and permanent secretary, at the ministry of local government affairs, Habiba Shekarau, as the new head of service.
