Governor Uba Sani has called on residents to sustain and deepen the prevailing peace in the state as they celebrate Christmas.

In his Christmas message on Wednesday, the governor highlighted the season’s essence, emphasising peace, hope and unity.

He noted that despite numerous challenges, Kaduna made significant strides in addressing security issues, particularly in areas previously plagued by conflicts, such as Birnin Gwari and Giwa LGAs.

Mr Sani attributed the progress to collaborative efforts, including the work of the Peace Dialogue Group, the Office of the National Security Adviser and other security agencies.

He added that the ‘Kaduna Peace Model’ had been pivotal in fostering stability and was being studied by other states for replication.

“We give thanks to the Almighty God for bringing us to this happy day and for His merciful hand upon our dear state. The indomitable spirit of the Kaduna people remains alive,” he said.

Mr Sani reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, prioritising equity, justice and fairness as the foundation for sustainable development.

The governor also highlighted key achievements, including infrastructural development in rural areas, improvements in the education and health sectors, agricultural transformation and social intervention programmes targeted at the poor and vulnerable.

On the national front, Mr Sani praised President Bola Tinubu for his decisive leadership, which he described as steering the country toward economic stability and enhanced security.

He urged residents to support the President’s transformative agenda while calling for renewed efforts to promote peace and harmony.

He said, “Let us make a conscious effort to let peace reign in our hearts, homes and communities. Let us be ambassadors of peace, spreading love, kindness, and compassion wherever we go.

“To our Christian brothers and sisters, I wish you a joyous and peaceful Christmas celebration. May the birth of Jesus Christ bring you hope, joy, and peace.”

The governor also encouraged Kaduna residents to strive to be instruments of peace, fostering love, forgiveness, and mercy in their daily lives.
