Kaduna: PDP reaffirms loyalty, declares readiness for 2027 elections

The Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna has reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to the party and declared its readiness to win all elective positions in the 2027 elections.
Maria Dogo, PDP’s spokeswoman in Kaduna, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the party’s Expanded Caucus Meeting held on Monday.
Ms Dogo said the meeting was well attended by party leaders, stakeholders, elected and former office holders, including party members from across the state.
According to Ms Dogo, the meeting was convened to review the state of the party and brief members on the ongoing national-level efforts to reposition and strengthen the PDP.
She also said the meeting provided members with an opportunity to express their concerns and expectations ahead of future political engagements.
She said, “Party leaders at the meeting briefed members on concrete steps being taken nationally to address internal challenges and reposition the party for future electoral contests, adding that members were given ample opportunity to air their views.
“The caucus noted with satisfaction that the engagements helped to allay fears, restore confidence, and reinforce belief in the future of the PDP. The caucus unanimously resolved to remain united, steadfast, and committed to building a stronger and more cohesive PDP in Kaduna State and across the country.
“The caucus, also, reiterated that the PDP, as Nigeria’s leading opposition party with strong grassroots structures, was fully prepared to mobilise its members and emerge victorious in all elective contests in the 2027 general elections”.
According to the spokesperson, the party also resolved to remain open to strategic collaboration with other like-minded political parties and stakeholders with a view to “ending APC-led governance beyond 2027 and rescuing Nigeria through credible and people-oriented leadership”.
Ms Dogo said the caucus encouraged all qualified party members to freely declare interest in contesting for any elective office, assuring them of fairness, inclusiveness, and adherence to internal democratic principles.
She added that the caucus further resolved that regular meetings should be held at all levels of the party structure to strengthen unity, communication, and grassroots mobilisation.
The meeting, she said, ended on a note of renewed hope, unity, and collective determination to reposition the PDP as a credible alternative capable of delivering good governance to Nigerians.
