The Kaduna State Police Command, on Friday, said it has concluded arrangements to participate in the 2026 National Police Week.

This is in compliance with the directive from the Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Disu.

The command said the week-long activities, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” were designed to enhance collaboration between the police and the public, “while fostering safer communities.”

This is contained in a statement by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, to journalits in Kaduna on Friday.

According to him, the programme will commence on Monday, March 30, with outreach activities including environmental sanitation and cleanup exercises around Bida Road, Leventis, Sabo, and Unguwan Rimi, to be carried out by police personnel.

Mr Hassan said the week-long activities aimed at strengthening community engagement and promoting professional policing.

He added that a medical outreach by the Police Medical Unit would also take place at the state vommand Headquarters on the same day.

He stated, “On Tuesday, March 31, the command will organise a walkathon to promote community engagement and healthy living.

“The exercise is scheduled to begin at the state headquarters and proceed to Independence Way, Kaduna.”

Mr Hassan further said that on Wednesday, April 1, the command would continue its outreach with public sensitisation campaigns on the prevention of electoral violence, ballot snatching, and other related offences at Central Market and Royal Phone Market, Kaduna.

He noted, “Drivers will also be sensitised to safe driving practices and adherence to traffic regulations at Kawo and Mando Motor Parks.

“Activities will culminate on Thursday, April 2, with the presentation of cheques to families of deceased police officers at the Command Headquarters.”

He said the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, urged members of the public to actively participate in the events, noting that such engagements were crucial to building stronger police-community relations.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to fostering trust, enhancing public safety, and strengthening partnerships with residents across the state.
