Kaduna: SUBEB distributes tablets to new teachers in smart school

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board has provided tablets to 20 newly deployed teachers at the Universal Basic Education Board Model Smart School.
Speaking at the event in Kinkinau, Kaduna South LGA, executive chairman of KADSUBEB, Mubarak Mohammed, said the gesture reinforced the board’s commitment to advancing digital teaching and learning across the state.
Mr Mohammed, who was represented by the Director of School Services, Malam Rabiu Idris, said that the smart school initiative reflects the future of basic education in Kaduna state.
He said it aligns with the government’s vision to modernise education in line with global 21st-century standards.
Supported by the Universal Basic Education Commission and the Kaduna government, Mr Mohammed said the programme was designed to integrate information and communication technology into teaching and learning.
Mr Mohammed noted that the devices would enable access to digital learning materials and support monitoring of pupil progress. He further stated that the devices would enhance the use of innovative teaching methods to improve learning outcomes.
Mr Mohammed urged the teachers to handle the devices responsibly, encouraging them to make the most of the tablets for lesson planning. He also urged their use for classroom delivery and continuous professional development, emphasising the need for proper maintenance and accountability.
