Kane shines as Bayern edge Real Madrid in Champions League quarter-final

Harry Kane scored on his return from injury as Bayern Munich secured a first-leg advantage over Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Bernabeu in Madrid.
Kane, monitored by England coach Thomas Tuchel, returned after missing games against Japan and Freiburg.
He was subdued early but contributed to Luis Diaz’s opener before halftime.
The England captain struck just after the break with a clinical finish past Andriy Lunin. Manuel Neuer made key saves, including stops against Kylian Mbappe, in an intense encounter.
Real introduced Jude Bellingham after an hour in search of a comeback. The midfielder impressed, adding urgency as the hosts pushed forward.
Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered a fine cross that Mbappe converted in the 74th minute, raising hopes of a Real Madrid fightback.
Bayern, however, held firm under pressure to take a narrow advantage into the second leg in Munich.
Kane’s fitness had dominated pre-match discussions, underlining his importance. The striker justified his inclusion with a decisive contribution.
Despite a quiet first half, Kane assisted the move leading to the opener and later scored the winner with a trademark low drive.
Real threatened late, but Bayern’s superiority suggests they remain favourites heading into the return leg at the Allianz Arena.
