Kano agency, producers partner to improve sachet water quality

The Pure Water Producers and Vendors Association has pledged to collaborate with the Kano State Consumer Protection Council to improve the quality of drinking water by adhering to health and safety standards in water packaging.
The chairman of the association, Ahmad Bala-Hudu, stated this during a courtesy visit to the council in Kano on Monday.
Mr Bala-Hudu said the visit aimed to introduce the association to the council and to seek guidance on improving operations and promoting good practices in the industry to safeguard public health.
According to him, the council plays a critical role in protecting the interests of consumers of essential products, including sachet water producers.
He stressed the association’s commitment to supporting the council by complying with all regulations and guidelines designed to ensure quality standards.
The executive chairman of KSCPC, Ibrahim Garba-Muhammad, commended the association for the visit and described the collaboration as vital to consumer protection.
Mr Garba-Muhammad urged the association to continue sensitising its members on the need to adhere strictly to health and safety standards in the production and packaging of sachet water.
He revealed that complying with regulatory requirements was essential to ensuring consumer safety and well-being.
The executive chairman further explained that the council would not compromise standards in protecting consumer rights, supporting businesses, and enforcing relevant regulations.
He reiterated the council’s readiness to take measures to address challenges facing water producers and to ensure the production of safe, high-quality drinking water.
