The Kano State House of Assembly on Tuesday inaugurated two newly elected members, Sa’ad Aminu and Najib Sarki, representing Ungogo and Kano Municipal State constituencies.

The inauguration, which took place during plenary, was presided over by the speaker, Jibril Isma’il Falgore.

Mr Falgore administered the oath of allegiance and the oath of office to the lawmakers in line with constitutional provisions, marking their formal admission to the state’s legislative arm.

The speaker congratulated the new members and urged them to justify the confidence their constituents had reposed in them.

He charged them to contribute meaningfully to debates and legislative processes aimed at promoting good governance and development in the state.

Responding, Sa’ad Aminu (APC–Ungogo) expressed appreciation to the assembly’s leadership and members for the warm reception.

He pledged that they would work in synergy with other lawmakers to initiate and support people-oriented bills and motions that would improve the welfare of their constituencies.

Also speaking, Najib Sarki (APC–Kano Municipal) assured residents of Kano Municipal of effective representation.

He said their priority would be to address pressing community needs through responsive legislation and oversight functions.

The inauguration followed the death of Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who died on the same day in 2025.

The two inaugurated lawmakers are children of the deceased legislators and were nominated by their party to succeed their parents.

With the development, the 40-member assembly now comprises 38 APC members and two NNPP members.
