Kano Assembly unveils principal officers

The newly-inaugurated Kano State House of Assembly has named principal officers of the 10th assembly.
The speaker, Jibrin Falgore, said the principal officers were chosen after due consultation with their political parties and relevant stakeholders.
According to him, the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), also sent the names of their nominated members.
He said the members are Lawan Hussaini, the majority leader (NNPP-Dala), and Garba Famar (NNPP-Kibiya), the deputy majority leader.
Others are Labaran Madari (APC-Warawa), the minority leader, and Ayuba Durum (APC-Kabo), the deputy minority leader, while Mudassir Zawaciki (NNPP-Kumbotso) was nominated as the chief whip.
Mr Falgore urged the principal officers to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
He also called on the state’s people to support Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf and the lawmakers to succeed.
