Kano CP tasks newly promoted officers on patriotism, commitment

The commissioner of police in Kano, Salman Garba, has charged the 272 newly promoted officers of the state police command to be patriotic and committed to their duties.
The state police boss gave the charge while decorating the officers with their new ranks in Kano on Monday.
“Your new ranks come with new responsibilities that require patriotism, dedication and commitment to service. To whom much is given, much is expected,” the commissioner said.
He urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through diligence and regard to the rights of individuals and protection of lives and property.
“I wish to remind you that this is another challenge for you.
“As you are moving higher, your responsibilities are increasing. I wish you more success in your undertakings,” he said.
The commissioner said Kano citizens and Nigerians expect a lot from the newly promoted officers and urged them to be committed to duty with the fear of God.
He said the officers comprise four chief superintendents of police who were promoted to assistant commissioners of police, the first time the command would record such a number being promoted to that rank at the same time.
Others are 50 superintendents of police who moved to chief superintendents of police and 32 deputy superintendents of police who were promoted to superintendents of police.
Similarly, 182 assistant superintendents of police were promoted to deputy superintendents of police.
