Kano governor mourns as newly-appointed aide dies in Egypt

Mr Bature described Mr Bunkure’s demise as a heartbreaking moment for the government.

Ahmad Bunkure, one of 13 special advisers of Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, appointed on Monday, died in Egypt on Wednesday.

Mr Bakure was appointed the special adviser to the governor on works and seven commissioners and six permanent secretaries were sworn in same day at the state government house.

In a statement, spokesperson for the governor, Sunusi Bature, described his demise as “a heartbreaking moment for us as a government.”

“Engr. Bunkure was a man of immense talent and professionalism. His expertise was vital to our vision for transforming Kano State’s infrastructure. His loss is an irreplaceable tragedy, not only to his family but also to the entire Kano political and professional community.”

Sending his condolences, the governor urged the deceased’s family to find solace in the legacy of dedication and integrity he left behind.

The governor said he would be remembered as a man of principle and an exemplary public servant.
