The Kano State government has reiterated its commitment to ensure a stable electricity supply to water treatment plants for providing potable water to Kano residents.

The Commissioner for the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy, Gaddafi Shehu, stated this while leading the power sector on an inspection visit to the Tamburawa water treatment plant on Thursday in Kano.

He said the visit was to assess the power supply situation and identify areas for improvement.

Mr Shehu said that the ministry had already improved electricity supply to several water treatment plants across the state, including Guzu-Guzu, Joda, Watari, and Tudun Wada, among others.

He pointed out that most of the water treatment plants in Kano have been rehabilitated to demonstrate the government’s efforts to provide potable water to all parts of the state.

Mr Shehu said the ministry was committed to providing stable and efficient electricity to enhance water production and reduce the high consumption of diesel at the water treatment plants.

He commended Governor Abba Yusuf for his zeal and commitment to improving the well-being of the people of the state.

The commissioner urged the people of the state to complement government efforts by protecting power and water installations in their communities.
