The Kano government and Guinea-Bissau have agreed to strengthen bilateral ties, focusing on agriculture, education, culture, tourism, and human capital development.

A high-level Kano delegation led by NNPP chairman Ajuji Ahmed, representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, met Guinea-Bissau’s president, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, in Bissau on Thursday, according to the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature.

Both sides pledged cooperation on job creation, youth empowerment, skills acquisition in GSM repairs, fish farming, and cashew and mango value chains.

Kano offered 50 scholarships for Guinea-Bissau citizens to study English and Hausa in state-owned tertiary institutions, promoting cultural and linguistic exchange.

Mr Embaló praised Mr Yusuf’s leadership, planned a return visit to Kano, and directed his defence minister to lead a delegation exploring partnership areas.

Mr Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to international partnerships, driving opportunities in human capital, trade, and culture for the Kano people.

The delegation included Kano commissioners and other top-notch officials.
